When you have made the decision to
renovate your kitchen and how far you need or are
willing to go with that renovation here are some things
to consider.
What do you like about your existing
kitchen (and would repeat in the new renovation).
What do you dislike and want to
change?
Is there enough counter space, work
space or preparation space?
Is there enough storage space?
Do you need more cabinets or perhaps
taller cabinets.
Is there an eating area in the kitchen?
Should it be separate or a part of
the cabinetry?
How often do you cook?
How often do you entertain?
Should the cabinetry reflect a contemporary,
traditional, or country mood?
Is there congestion presently because
more than one person cooks and/or helps?
The issue of layout and traffic
patterns might have to be addressed.
You may want an island, is there
sufficient room?
How many drawers do you need?
Should they be regular, pot and pan,
or rollouts?
Should they be designed for the
cutlery, spices, utensils or even junk?
Should the countertops be laminate,
Timber granite?
Should they be a combination?
What type of sink or sinks do I
need?
Do we have enough electrical outlets,
or maybe they just need to be relocated?
Do we need recycling bins or garbage
bins?
Maybe we need to adjust a wall or
even move it to give us more space.
