We have pleasure in submitting the following specifications
for the manufacture of one (1) only two axle tag along machinery
/ plant trailer.
The
trailer will be designed and built to withstand normal operations
on highways, secondary roads and construction sites, transporting
equipment and plant within the legal loading limits and
at speed limits allowed.
FRAME
CONSTRUCTION
The
main frame is designed and manufactured from high quality
BHP "A" grade flat plate steel. All fabrication
is to be carried out within our workshop under strict supervision
to acceptable welding standards. The trailers usable bed
length will be approximately 7.5 metres long and the floor
is to be constructed using 5mm plate steel floor. The combing
rails are manufactured from 180 mm "C" channel
with tie down points located at suitable intervals down
both sides.
RAMPS
The
tag trailer will be fitted with two ramps approximately
240Omm long and 80Omm wide, which will be hydraulically
operated by truck hydraulics.
TOW
COUPLING
The
trailer will be fitted with a "Flying Saucer- type
tow coupling.
LANDING
LEG
A
manual wind down leg will be fitted to the trailer at the
front to support the unloaded uncoupled trailer. The trailer
will also be supplied with a tool box mounted in a convenient
position at the rear of the trailer.
AXLES
The
trailer will have two new 5" round axles.
SUSPENSION
The
tandem axle suspension to be fitted to this trailer will
be a overslung type suspension with tapered bushes and nine
leaf spring packs.
BRAKES
The
braking system will be the latest ADR 38/02 brake system
in accordance with transport department recommendations.
ELECTRICAL
A
seven pin socket will be fitted to the front of the trailer
with all other required quick release couplings. Rear tail
lights, number plate light and mounting brackets will be
fitted in a recessed, protected position at the rear of
the trailer. Side lights to fitted along the full length
of the trailer at suitable intervals.
PAINT
The
trailer frame will be primed with a grey super etch primer
and two coats of red industrial spraying enamel, and the
deck to be primed and painted in two coats of industrial
white spraying enamel paint to the- -combings -and the top
of the deck in a grey spraying enamel. This --can -also
be to custom ers required colours within the allowable costs.
TYRES
Eight
only new 255/70 tubeless tyres and rims will be supplied
with the trailer. The trailer will be fitted with a single
spare tyre carrier.
The
following accessories can be fitted to the trailer and can
be supplied at a cost plus basis
