We
have pleasure in submitting the following specifications
for the manufacture of one (1) only three axle machinery
/ plant trailer.
The
trailer will be designed and built to withstand normal operations
on highway, secondary roads and construction sites, transporting
equipment and plant within the legal loading limits and
at speed limits allowed.
FRAME
CONSTRUCTION
The
main frame is designed and manufactured using high quality
BHP 'A' grade plate steel. All fabrication is to be carried
out within our workshop under strict supervision to acceptable
welding standards. The trailers useable bed length will
be approximately 9 metres long and the floor to be constructed
using 5mm chequered plate steel floor plate. The combings
rails are manufactured from channel with tie down points
located at suitable intervals down both sides. A single
spare wheel carrier will be fitted in a suitable location
on the trailer.
RAMPS
The
tag trailer will be fitted with two hydraulically operated
ramps approximately 240Omm in length and 750mm in width,
TOW
COUPLING
The
trailer will be fitted with a "Flying Saucer- type
tow coupling,
LANDING
LEG
A
manual wind down leg will be fitted to the trailer at the
front to support the unloaded, uncoupled trailer, it will
also be fitted with two drop down legs at the rear of the
trailer. The trailer will also be supplied with a lockable
tool-box mounted in a convenient position at the rear of
the trailer,
AXLES
The
trailer will have three new 5" round axles.
SUSPENSION
The
tri axle suspension to be fitted to this trailer will be
a overslung type suspension with tapered bushes and nine
leaf spring packs.
BRAKES
The
braking system will be the latest ADR 38/02 brake system
in accordance with transport department recommendations.
ELECTRICAL
A
seven pin socket will be fitted to the front of the trailer
with all other required quick release couplings. Rear tall
lights, number plate light and mounting brackets will be
fitted in a recessed, protected position at the rear of
the trailer. Side lights to fitted along the full length
of the trailer at suitable intervals
PAINT
The
trailer frame will be primed with a grey super etch primer
and two coats of red industrial spraying enamel to the chassis.
and the deck to be primed and painted in two coats of industrial
grey spraying enamel paint, with the combings in white enamel
paint. This can also be to customers required colours within
the allowable costs.
TYRES
Twelve
only new 255/70R22.5 low profile tubeless tyres and rims
will be supplied with the trailer.
